First Selfie

Hello!  It's Maia Evianne here.  As you can see, I just tried to do a selfie, and failed pretty bad.  But that was the first try.

There is the second try,

And that was the best one.  Maybe I should do it outside, in the middle of the day.  It looks like my arm is going backwards, but that's my thumb.

Rose Was Bored. Was.

So here's how it all went down.

Rose:  "I'm bored!"
Me:  "Why don't you play with Penny, Maia Eve or Rebecca?"
Rose:  "I got bored of that."
Me:  "Hmm...  Lets do something fun!"

No,  here's how it actually went down:

Me:  "ROSE, I'M BORED!!!!"
Rose:  (sleeping) "Go to sleep, why don't you."
Me:  "Rose, you are so lazy.  Get up, and we'll do something fun!!!"

Yesterday, I got a bunch of free American Girl magazines from the library.  Two of them had mini magazines for the dolls, and Rose and I cut them out today.

Then, Rose went outside, and I was there taking pictures.

Thank you for reading!

Skirt DIY

That is Maia Eve playing with the shirt we are about to make into a skirt.

Here's what you'll need.

  • An old shirt (or a new one)
  • Yarn (preferably kinda stretchy)
  • A Crochet hook (I used I/9, but I'm not sure it really matters)
  • Fabric Scissors (I just used regular ones)
  • Time
  • Patience

1.  Cut the piece of fabric that will be used for the skirt.

2. Measure your doll's stomach.  Mine was about 11" around.

3. Crochet a chain 11" tall, and count the stitches.  The amount of stitches it took me to get to 11" was 32.  I subtracted about 5, which left me with 27, but I wanted it to be an even number, so I made it 26.

4.  Now, poke 26 holes in the shirt.  Mine shirt was wide, so I spaced the holes about 1 and a half inches apart.

5.  Crochet on it kinda like you would with a fleece blanket.  My shirt is wide, so I scrunched it up as I went along.  Crochet a few rows.

My bottom edges were raw, so I crocheted the bottom too.

Thanks for reading!  Hope it wasn't too confusing!

Borrowing Rebecca Rubin

Hello!  Today I went to the library and checked out Rebecca!  She is an awesome doll, and she is a pretty one too!

I love the texture of her hair.  It is hard like Isabelle's and Julie's, Kit's and Josefina's.  Samantha's hair was a bit softer and harder to brush.

I don't like the feel of her shoes or the ribbon on her coat.  It is the same material as the new Samantha's ribbon on her dress and ponytail.

There were mini carts for the little kids, so I thought I would put Rebecca in one of those.

That's all for now.

Penny Photoshoot

Hi!

I took a lot of photos of Penny recently, and here they are!  Actually, these photos were taken about a month ago.  Whatever.  Still new to me.

Farewell to Josefina

A few days ago, Josefina went back to the library.  I have had so few memories with her, but those few times were times well spent.

I hope you enjoyed my LONG speech, LOL!

Chess With Josefina

Hello!  A few days ago, Josefina and I played Chess with very unique chess pieces.  I won, which is weird because they usually win when playing with me.
